Five local coffee shops to get a snack or do your work

BROCKTON – A nice cup of coffee and a quiet place to do work may sound reasonable but also may be hard to come by. But don’t worry, we’ve found five places to enjoy light refreshments and a good vibe to tackle work.

In this installment of Brockton Eats with Alisha, we’re traveling near and wide for places that make you want to work a little more with the extra push of amazing sandwiches, pastries, baked goods and most importantly, caffeine!

These weekly lists of tidbits and food finds are not restaurant reviews but go beyond a bare-bones round-up. Staff writer Alisha Saint-Ciel gives tips and takes to help Brockton-area foodies find those mouth-watering hidden gems, old favorites, and exciting new offerings.

The Garden Café – 245 Main St., Brockton

Synovia Thomans owner of Garden Cafe, has a shrimp wrap on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024.

Right in the heart of downtown is a café inspired by Haiti’s lush green gardens, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You can indulge in homemade chicken or pumpkin soup, salad, wraps, natural juice, grab-and-go pastries, breakfast sandwiches, hot or cold tea, and coffee. The best part is that there are plenty of seating areas to do work, have a meeting, or invite a coworker to join you.
