These are the 5 best food and drinks events in Fort Worth this week

From a backyard barbecue to a watermelon ball, tastes of summer are on the menu this week. Learn how to make craft cocktails at a local distillery, or practice yoga inside a brewery. (Class includes a post-class pint.) By week’s end, dogs can get in on the fun at a brunch geared just for them.

Friday, July 30

Summer Backyard BBQ at Pinstripes

It’s a patio party at the Shops at Clearfork restaurant, bar, and bowling alley, where guests can partake in a summertime barbecue. Menu items include barbecue ribs, mini cheeseburgers, pesto chicken, mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, garden salad, parmesan chips, watermelon, cookies, and brownies. Wash it all down with craft beer from Grapevine’s Hop & Sting Brewery. Tickets are $40 per person. Note that sales end at 6 pm on Thursday. The event will run from 5-9 pm.

TX Whiskey Cocktail Class at Whiskey Ranch

Learn how to make craft cocktails from TX Whiskey’s master mixologist Jason Shelly. Participants will create three cocktails, and can receive 15 percent off all bar and drinkware in the TX Ranch Store. Tickets are $49. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and class begins at 7 pm sharp.

Yoga at Neutral Ground Brewing Company

The still-new Race Street brewery — popular for its King Cake beer with a purple, green, and yellow sugared rim — will host and all-levels vinyasa yoga class. Follow up the poses with a pint of beer, included in the $20 class price. Class is 45 minutes and begins at 12:30 pm Bring your own mat.

Melon Ball at The Post

It’s watermelon everything at The Post at River East, the bar, restaurant, and live music venue on Race Street. Visit for watermelon-inspired cocktails and menu items, including complimentary watermelon slices all day. There’s live music, too. The event will run from 11 am-11 pm, and it’s free to attend.

Woofs & Waffles Brunch at World of Beer

The restaurant and bar will show some puppy love with a pet-friendly brunch. Special dishes for dogs will include Fido’s Flatbread and the Doggie Brunch Bowl along with human favorites like the chicken and waffle sandwich, avocado toast, and beermosas. Brunch will be served from 11 am-3 pm.
